Lancashire Mind Support for Jobseekers as Lancashire Opens for Business
With redundancies and business closures at a high, we look at how caring for your mental health is vital as Lancashire re-opens for recruitment.
Tuesday 30th June a.k.a #LancashireIsOpen
This day has been earmarked as the day that the job market reopens in Lancashire and with a new surge of recruits expected to walk through job center doors, online job search and carry around their CV’s, it is important for everyone involved in these processes and life changes to look after their wellbeing.
A lot of us have experienced major change since lockdown began, whether that be working from home, going on furlough, being declared a frontline worker or even losing your job or business.
Support with Working from Home, Furlough and Redundancy
Holly, our Community Development Lead put together a pack to help support Lancashire during Lockdown, specifically with changes and impact caused by working from home, furlough and redundancy.
Looking for work? We have a service for that…
Along with hopes of a fruitful new job venture also comes the possibility of rejection. And with higher numbers of people expected to begin their job search, some roles will find themselves inundated with applications.
Emotions such as stress and worry as well as thoughts of self-doubt can show up during these transitions in life and so it is vital to be in a good space mentally before approaching the task at hand.
We truly believe that focus on increasing your mental wellbeing as a priority will benefit:
- your overall ability to focus on job applications and being able to come across more positive about yourself and your skills
- your overall attitude when in interviews and how you project your strengths and enthusiasm
- your resilience should things not go as planned
Did you know we have two amazing Transformational Coaches, called Julie and Antony, who specifically work with people wanting to find work?
As part of #LancashireIsOpen we want to shout about the details of the services below to help as many people as we can, get in new employment, or even find the best routes to picking up new skills.
Brighter Futures – Antony
Anthony says:
”I work across Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Blackpool, Chorley, Hyndburn, Lancaster, Pendle, Preston, Rossendale, West Lancs and Wyre. The project aims to help people 16+ get back into work, training and education. Using a holistic approach we work on a 1:1 basis to identify and overcome the client’s current barriers. These may include things such as housing, finances, physical and mental health, support networks, education and employment.”
Age of Opportunity – Julie Duffy
Julie says: ”I am one of the two transformational coaches on the Age of Opportunity project with Lancashire Mind. I work across West Lancashire, Preston and Pendle. The project aims to help people over 50 get back into work, training and education. Using a holistic approach we work on a 1:1 basis to identify and overcome the client’s current barriers. These may include things such as housing, finances, physical and mental health, support networks, education and employment.
The wellbeing support may involve individuals learning how to better self manage worry, anxiety, stress and low mood using low intervention techniques.”
