The P.E.A.K Project
Personal, Encouragement, Achievement, and Knowledge.
The PEAK Project is a fantastic initiative, co-created with young people aged 12-18 to enhance mental health support for youth and their families. PEAK stands for Personal, Encouragement, Achievement, and Knowledge—values chosen by young participants to embody the spirit of the project.
Our PEAK Project is fully funded (with thanks to Children in Need), and is run across Lancashire in the following areas: Burnley & Pendle.
At the heart of PEAK
Comprehensive mental health support
We believe that young people and their caregivers deserve accessible, comprehensive mental health support. We aim to:
- Increase mental health literacy and awareness.
- Address common challenges faced by young people.
- Foster deeper connections between young people and their caregivers.
- Improve understanding of youth mental health among families and support networks.
- Equip support networks with insights and skills to effectively support young people.
What we offer through PEAK:
PEAK Wellbeing Workshops
Young people will work within a group to explore wellbeing issues such as sleep, anxiety, exam stress, body image. The workshops will offer strategies to help with these issues and aim to boost confidence, raise awareness and support peer connections.
1:1 Wellbeing Coaching
A young person will work with a Wellbeing Coach over 6 sessions to remove barriers to wellbeing, create a wellbeing goal to achieve as well as learn practical coping strategies along they way. This is a referral-based service, and if the young person is over 16, it can be a self-referral. The aim of these sessions is to improve wellbeing and build resilience.
Wellbeing Ambassador Training
A one-day programme or it can delivered over a number of weeks. Wellbeing Ambassador training helps to embed wellbeing practices in your school or community group with young people taking the lead. This is for up to 30 young people, teaching them skills to support their peers and champion wellbeing through the school or community.
Drop-ins
A chance for young people to have an informal chat about anything wellbeing wise! It could be for signposting, it could be more information about one of our services or just someone to listen to them.
Lunchtime Talking Table
The lunchtime talking table is another informal service that works much like a drop-in. This session will not interrupt any lessons and can be a chance to come and chat to us. A member of our staff will be there to facilitate as well as bring signposting.
